Kotor

Kotor has been an important political and cultural centre in the Southern part of the Adriatic Sea, with a rich cultural heritage and tradition of peacetime activity. The town walls erected between the Ninth and Eighteenth Century; are 4.5km long, almost 20m high in places and 2 to 15m thick.

No cars allowed in the Old City of Kotor! Hence, the Plaza maintains a festive atmosphere: Pavement cafes with music and dancing. This celebration of life can be symbolised by the pyramid shaped pillar that stands near the Clock Tower, built in 1602. This Pillory is a testimony to the citizens moral as well as the legal norms respected in the town.
